5-day Arts Summer Camps - for ages *7-12
July 10-14 - Needles and Threads - Full day camp

FULL DAY - 5 day camps start at 9am, end at 4pm
AGES 7-12 | MAX 10 campers

Learning to sew by hand AND by machine, using mini looms to weave, and learning to cross-stitch a cool design... all great skills to learn and explore! We'll be creating a hand-made denim pouch with blanket stitch and learning how to sew on buttons. Moving onto machine sewing for a larger shoulder bag with a zipper and snap pocket. The mini-loom is great to learn how to weave fabrics for a wall-hanging and lastly, cross-stitch with colourful (or not!) needle-point threads for some really cool images!
Led by artist and educator Carolyn McLeod of Creative Spark Workshops, and her helper Ann Sanders (aka Mom, who taught her how to sew!).

A camper's interpretation of a colourful bird. Using a Papier Mache technique, paints and lots of feathers!

This camp is great for kids who work best morning or afternoon. In this half-day camp, kids will create 3D sculptures using all types of media. Paper Clay, poster board, feathers, wood, wire... a great way to play with textures!

Please note: No camps listed here run during weeks that include statutory holidays. All are 5-day camps, with daily as well as progressive creative sessions meaning not all projects are done within a single day. Projects are fun, often functional and most importantly, creative. Input from campers is strongly encouraged!
Camp details
Monday to Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Drop off and pick up: Drop off time starts at 8:30am, classes start at 9:00am to give parents time to drop off child before work. Pick up starts at 4:00pm. until 4:30pm. Further arrangements can be made by request.
Location: Camps will be held at 100 Crimea St., Unit A101 (directly across the street from the Noah's Ark Childcare Centre.
Class size: Class sizes will be limited to 10 children maximum.
Lunch & snacks: Children are required to bring a bagged/boxed lunch and morning and afternoon snacks (peanut free, please unless otherwise indicated).
As there is a park at the end of the street, we will be heading there every lunch hour for a picnic lunch in the park.
Costs
Weekly full day camps are $275 per child and Half-day camps are $135. Taxes are included AND all supplies are included in every camp.
Discount program
If you are registering more than one child in YOUR household, a 10% discount applies for each additional child in a registered camp, Full-day or half-day camp.
If you are registering your child for more than camp, a 10% discount applies. Only ONE 10% discount per child per household (ie. 3 children, 1 child registered for 2 camps will receive 1 10% discount for the second camp. Each ADDITIONAL child from that household will receive a 10% discount for their registered camp. This does NOT have to occur the same week your other child(ren) are registered with us).
